Antje Peters
lives and works in Berlin, Germany

‘My work as an artist takes the existing stereotype of the medium of photography as its focus. Photography of the product becomes the subject within my work itself. Well known visual strategies of the advertising world are analyzed and broken down with an artistic approach. Art, as well as commercial photography change and influence each other.'

[…] Antje Peters' work seems to aim for the essential aesthetic, self-
referential confrontation with photography, it’s fictional nature. Furthermore, it addresses our relationship to commodities and the marketplace through the image. It questions the role the image has taken up within this relationship.*
